Overview
White County Medical Center’s emergency room strives to provide efficient, world-class care on a consistent basis.  This is done through:

• 24-hour physician coverage by doctors who specialize in emergency medicine.
• Three physicians providing care during peak times.
• A state-of-the-art PulseCheck information system that combines triage, patient tracking, physician and nursing documentation, prescription writing and other data. 
• Advanced nursing care by nurses certified in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, and trauma nursing core course. 

The emergency room is a 22-bed department offering:

• A major trauma room. 
• Four minor trauma rooms / cardiac rooms.
• 13 minor treatment rooms.
• Cardiac monitoring in all rooms.

The ER’s waiting area has been renovated, and the hospital is in the planning phases of expanding the entire department.
